The Cybersecurity Center of Excellence is offering a $600 scholarship to community and technical college instructors teaching cybersecurity in Washington state to attend an upcoming WASTC workshop. The workshops will be held on Saturdays beginning January 27 through February 24, 2024.

Scholarship applications for one of the following workshops are being accepted through January 14:

CCNAv7: Introduction to Networks (ITN)

Saturdays, 8-10AM PST

The first of three courses that make up the CCNAv7 curriculum and aligns to the competencies outlined for the CCNA Certification Exam. Content covers the architecture, structure, functions and components of the Internet and other computer networks. Participants achieve a basic understanding of how networks operate and how to build simple local area networks (LAN), perform basic configurations for routers and switches, and implement Internet Protocol (IP). There are no pre-requisites for this offering.

CCNAv7: Enterprise Networking, Security, and Automation (ENSA)

Saturdays, 8-10AM PST

The third of three courses that make up the CCNAv7 curriculum and aligns to the competencies outlined for the CCNA Certification Exam. Content describes the architecture, components, operations, and security to scale for large, complex networks, including wide area network (WAN) technologies. The course emphasizes network security concepts and introduces network virtualization and automation. Participants learn how to configure, troubleshoot, and secure enterprise network devices and understand how application programming interfaces (API) and configuration management tools enable network automation. Participants are required to have successfully completed both the Introduction to Networks (ITN) and the Switching, Routing and Wireless Essentials (SRWE) courses prior to beginning this course or have equivalent knowledge and skills.

Network Security
