Washington's FREE Resource for Earning Industry Certs
Topics include IT and Cybersecurity
Washington State Library and your local library have teamed up to make technical skills accessible to anyone with a library card.
Did you know? You can learn and earn multiple industry certifications through your local library! Washington State Library launched a new certification portal for library cardholders. Multiple county and city libraries have signed up, and more are joining.
As of now, these are the participating libraries: King County, Tacoma, Spokane, Whatcom County, Bellingham, and SanJuan Island.
Through the portal, library users can learn, practice, and certify in high-demand digital and technical skills. Topics range from digital literacy to IT and cybersecurity. Free study resources are provided through LinkedIn Learning and GMetrix Courses. Exams are proctored through Certiport. These are industry-recognized certifications demonstrating one’s proficiency and skills to an employer or prospective college.
According to our Washington State Librarian, Sara Jones,
"The Washington State Certification Portal removes cost and access barriers, giving every Washingtonian with a library card the chance to build job-ready skills and earn credentials that open doors.”
