Paul Rich

Paul joined Morgan Stanley as Executive Director of Information Protection in 2022. Prior to his current role, Paul was Executive Director, Data Management & Protection at JPMorgan Chase from 2019 to 2022. Before that, Paul spent more than twenty years at Microsoft where he helped launch cloud services that would eventually become Office 365. Paul participated in the design and development of key security and compliance features of Office 365 as well as the integration of encryption to the Exchange and SharePoint Online cloud services. Paul was previously co-Chair of the Cloud Security Alliance Cloud Key Management working group and co-chair of the Seattle chapter of the International Association of Privacy Professionals. Paul partnered with the National Institute of Standards and Technologies Cybersecurity Center of Excellence to initiate the Data Classification Practices project. Paul speaks and writes on cloud security, privacy, and encryption topics, is CIPP/US and CIPP/G certified, and has two patents. Paul lives in Seattle and is devoted to his wife, four children, two dogs, nine guitars, and piles of books.
